We, the FLAUSBAU team, explain in the following privacy information which personal data we process from you when you visit our website. The FLAUSBAU project is legally based at the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research (Leibniz-IZW) within the Forschungsverbund Berlin e.V. and at the NABU (Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union Germany) state association of Rhineland-Palatinate (NABU RLP). We would like to point out that, by default, all data transmissions in connection with our website are carried out via an encrypted connection. We reserve the right to occasionally update this privacy policy so that it always complies with current legal requirements or reflects changes to our services. We therefore recommend that you review this privacy information regularly to stay informed about the protection of the personal data we process.

Accessing the website, logging, and creation of log files

When accessing our website, processing of your IP address and other access information is technically necessary for the duration of the session. In addition, access information is logged and stored in the server’s log files. This includes your browser identification and domain, the name of the accessed file, date and time of access, the amount of data transferred, and whether the request was successful. The IP address is processed exclusively in anonymized form in this context. The processing of personal data is carried out for the provision of the website (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and to ensure the security of our information technology systems (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR in conjunction with Art. 32 GDPR). The log files are deleted after eight weeks.

If you send us an email to the address provided on the website or contact us in any other way, we will treat your data (your name and email address) and the information contained in the email as confidential and will not pass it on to third parties. It is used solely to process your request. The processing of personal data is based on the legitimate interest in responding satisfactorily to contact requests and inquiries pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Personal data will be deleted after your request has been fully resolved or upon your objection. The deletion periods described here apply only insofar as no statutory retention requirements prevent deletion.
